A RESOLUTION CREATING AND ESTABLISHING
A DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION COMMITTEE AND
PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to establish a
special committee to examine and explore possible plans, programs
and projects for the revitalization of the downtown area of
Wichita Falls, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for a committee to investigate the
potential for economic revival of the downtown area, historic
preservation, and the beautification of downtown,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council of Wichita Falls hereby establishes and
creates a Downtown Revitalization Committee for the express
purpose of examining the potential for revitalization in the
downtown area. This committee shall consist of seven (7)
members; one of which shall be a representative of the Parks
Board and one shall be a representative of the Heritage Society.
This committee shall organize immediately upon appointment and
accelerate its meeting schedules to gather and examine the
necessary information to develop possible plans, programs and/or
methods for the revitalization of the downtown area. Final
recommendations for downtown revitalization shall be submitted to
the City Council upon completion and when the City Council
determines that this committee has fulfilled its mission, this
committee will cease to exist.
