RESOLUTION TO APPROVE MODIFICATION TO UTILITY
SERVICES CONTRACT WITH SHEPPARD AIR FORCE
BASE FOR SHARING OF ENGINEERING DESIGN COSTS
FOR SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, Sheppard Air Force Base intends to close its
wastewater treatment plant;
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a contract with SAFB
whereby we receive 40% of the raw sewage flow from the Base into
the Northside Wastewater Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the SAFB and City staffs have been negotiating on
the conditions under which the City will receive the additional
60% of the Base raw sewage into the River Road Wastewater
Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, one condition for receipt of the raw sewage at the
River Road plant is the construction of an adequate collection
system from Sheppard Air Force Base to the City collection
system; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed modification to
the existing Utility Services Contract whereby SAFB will pay a
proportionate share of the engineering design cost for the
project to install the new sanitary sewer collection system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said modification to the Utility Services Contract between
the City of Wichita Falls and Sheppard Air Force Base is hereby
approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute the
modification for the City.
