AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING A PORTION
OF SIBLEY STREET AND RETAINING A UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended the closure
of an approximately 115' section of Sibley Street lying west of Bluff Street,
subject to the retention of a utility easement; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, Texas deems
that the closure of Sibley Street hereafter described is advisable and in the
public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The approximately 115 feet long dead-end section of
Sibley Street lying west of Bluff Street more specifically described as follows:
A tract of land being more commonly known as Sibley Street, a
dedicated street, out of the J. A. Scott Survey, No. 10, A-302,
Wichita County, Texas, said tract being more specifically described
by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the south right-of-way
line of Sibley Street, and the west right-of-way line of Bluff Street,
said point being the southeast corner and place of beginning of this
description;
Thence along said south right-of-way line of Sibley Street,
South 69° 26' West 96. 11 feet to a point being. the southwest corner
of this tract;
Thence leaving said south right-of-way line, North 20° 42' West
50.00 feet to a point lying on the north right-of-way line of Sibley
Street, said point being the northwest corner of this tract;
Thence along said north right-of-way line, North 69° 26' East
116.46 feet to a point of intersection of said north right-of-way line
of Sibley Street, and said west right-of-way line of Bluff Street,
said point being the northeast corner of this tract;
Thence South 010 28' West 53.94 feet to the place of beginning
and containing 0.12 acre of land, more or less ;
is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The City of Wichita Falls hereby reserves a fifteen (15)
foot wide utility easement more specifically described below, for the purpose of
laying and maintaining all kind and character of utility lines including water,
gas, electric, and telephone, television cable, power lines, and sanitary and
storm sewer:

Beginning at a point which bears North 01° 28' East 18.87 feet
from the point of intersection of the south right-of-way line of
Sibley Street, and the west right-of-way line of Bluff Street, said
point being the southeast corner and place of beginning of this
description;
Thence South 69° 26' West 103.23 feet to a point being the
southwest corner of this tract;
Thence North 20° 42' West 15.00 feet to a point being the north-
west corner of this tract;
Thence North 69° 26' East 109.33 feet to a point being the north
east corner of this tract;
Thence South 01° 28' West 16.18 feet to the place of beginning
and containing 0.04 acre of land, more or less.
SECTION 3. The street closure described in Section 1 shall become
effective upon the filing of a final plat of Taylor Foundry Subdivision, Lot
2-A, Block 1, with the Wichita County Clerk, within one (1) year from the date
of passage of this ordinance.
