APPROPRIATING FUNDS FROM THE HOTEL/MOTEL
FUND FOR PARTIAL FUNDING OF A LOG HOUSE
TO BE ERECTED IN LUCY PARK AS A PART OF
THE CITY'S SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls has appointed a
Commission to coordinate the city's observance of the Texas Sesquicentennial ;
and
WHEREAS, the Commission has chosen to erect a log house in Lucy Park as an
element of the city's observance; and
WHEREAS, such structure will be available for meeting rentals and will
enhance the River Development Projects impact on tourism in the area,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section One. There is hereby appropriated from the Hotel/Motel Fund the
amount of $10,500 to be placed in account number 26-052-5210.
Section Two. In order to have the structure erected by June and available
for such scheduled events as Fallsfest and the arrival of the Texas Wagon Train,
there exists an emergency, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage. Expenditure of these funds constitutes a grave public
necessity which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time the City's
original budget was adopted.
