ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 25-69 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE SHRINE CIRCUS IN D. L.
LIGON COLISEUM ON MAY 23-25 , 1986 .
WHEREAS, the Maskat Temple has applied for a license to
operate a circus at the D. L. Ligon Coliseum on the Midwestern
State University campus on May 23 through May 25, 1986 ; and,
WHEREAS , Maskat Temple has requested a waiver of Section 25-69
of the Code of Ordinances, which prohibits any transient show from
locating within 300 feet of any private residence, church, or
school ; and,
WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
in this situation are exceptional, and that such waiver should be
granted.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT :
The requirements of Section 25-69 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Wichita Falls are hereby waived to allow the issuance of
a license to Maskat Temple , or its concessionaire, to allow location
of a circus at D. L. Ligon Coliseum on the Midwestern State University
campus on May 23 through May 25 , 1986 .
