ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 25-69 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE OPERATION OF A TRANSIENT
SHOW AT THE NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL 10TH ANNUAL
SPRING FESTIVAL ON MAY 2 , 3, AND 4 , 1986 , AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY .
WHEREAS , the Notre Dame Schools are planning their 10th
Annual Spring Festival on May 2 , 3, and 4 , 1986 , to be held on the
Notre Dame High School parking lot and grounds; and,
WHEREAS , Notre Dame Schools have requested a waiver of Section
25-69 of the Code of Ordinances , which prohibits any transient show
from locating within 300 feet of any private residence, church, or
school; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
in this situation are exceptional, and that such waiver should be
granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT:
The requirements of Section 25-69 of the Code of Ordinances
of the City of Wichita Falls are hereby waived to allow the
issuance of a license to Notre Dame Schools, or its concessionaire,
to allow location of a transient show on the Notre Dame High School
parking lot and grounds on May 2 , 3, and 4 , 1986 .
The fact that this event will be held in less than thirty (30)
days after passage of this ordinance creates an emergency; therefore
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall
become effective immediately upon its passage .
