ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW SIGNS AND OTHER ADVERTISING
DEVICES IN LUCY PARK DURING FALLSFEST, AND
WAIVING SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
TO ALLOW POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES IN LUCY PARK FROM JUNE 2 THROUGH JUNE 8 ,
1986 .
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is co-sponsoring FallsFest
with the Junior League of Wichita Falls and Streams and Valleys on
June 6-8 , 1986 in Lucy Park; and,
WHEREAS , it is desired that signs for commercial advertising
in trade for donations, for directions , for booth identification
and for event promotion, be allowed in Lucy Park during FallsFest,
and that the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages be
allowed in Lucy Park from June 2 through June 8 , 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances
involved are exeptional, and that the requested waivers should be
granted.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT :
The provisions of Section 22-1 of the Code of Ordinances are
hereby waived to allow the placing of such signs in Lucy Park for
FallsFest on June 6-8 , 1986 , and the provisions of Section 22-4 of
the Code of Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the possession
and consumption of alcoholic beverages in Lucy Park for the period
from June 2 through June 8 , 1986 .
