RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ADDITIONAL WATER
ALLOCATION FOR THE CITY OF SCOTLAND
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the City of Scotland
have a Water Purchase Contract dated February 2, 1971, said
contract limiting the amount of water taken by Scotland to
200, 000 gallons per day;
WHEREAS, the Windthorst Water Supply Corporation has
requested Scotland to provide between 100, 000 and 700, 000 gallons
of water per month;
WHEREAS, the City has previously authorized by the Second
Amendment to the Water Purchase Contract the sale of water by
Scotland to the Windthorst Water Supply Corporation;
WHEREAS, the Mayor of Scotland has requested an increase in
the daily allocation from 200, 000 gallons per day to 250, 000 per
day in order to respond to the Windthorst Water Supply
Corporation request; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has considered this request and a
proposed Ninth Amendment to the Water Purchase Contract to
authorize such increase in water allocation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Ninth Amendment to the Water Purchase Contract between
the City of Wichita Falls and the City of Scotland for the
purposes of increasing the daily allocation of water to be taken
by Scotland to 250, 000 gallons per day is hereby approved, and
the City Manager is authorized to execute the contract for the
City of Wichita Falls .
