RESOLUTION NO. ( C L-GI.
RESOLUTION TO APPROVE U. S . GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF STREAM FLOW
AND RESERVOIR-CONTENT GAUGING STATIONS
WHEREAS, the U. S. Geological Survey operates and maintains a
series of stream flow and reservoir-content gauging stations on
the Little Wichita River watershed;
WHEREAS, the data from these stations are extremely
important to the City of Wichita Falls for the monitoring of
water flows into current reservoirs and for the planning of
future reservoirs;
WHEREAS, the City has historically shared with USGS in the
cost of operating and maintaining these stations;
WHEREAS, the maintenance of the stations is a requirement of
the water-use permits from the State of Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has considered a proposed Joint-Funding
Agreement with the USGS for the 1993-94 budget year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
There said Joint-Funding Agreement is hereby approved with
the City' s share of the cost to be $12, 695 . The City Manager is
authorized to execute the agreement .
