RESOLUTION TO APPROVE GRAZING LEASES AT LAKE
ARROWHEAD WITH J. S. BRIDWELL COMPANY AND
THOMAS FREDERICK AND JANE PENDLETON STEPHENS
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls owns property adjacent to
Lake Arrowhead up to a surface elevation of 930 feet;
WHEREAS, some of the properties were originally part of
large cattle ranches, and the acreage between the high water mark
of 926 feet and the ownership contour of 930 feet historically
has been leased back to the original property owners;
WHEREAS, the current grazing leases of J. S . Bridwell
Company and Thomas Frederick and Jane Pendleton Stephens will
expire on December 31, 1993 ;
WHEREAS, the current owners of the adjacent property have
offered to continue in a Surface Lease Agreement with the City
for the acreages between elevations 926 and 930 feet; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined Surface Lease Agreements
for the purposes stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed Surface Lease Agreement between the City and
the J. S . Bridwell Company, and between the City and Thomas
Frederick and Jane Pendleton Stephens, are hereby approved, and
the City Manager is authorized to execute the same for the City
of Wichita Falls .
