ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 (a) (9) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE POSTING OF ADVERTISING
DEVICES AT THE WEEKS AND HAMILTON TENNIS CENTERS
FOR THE SOUTHWEST TENNIS TOURNAMENT ON JUNE 4
THROUGH JUNE 7, 1986 , AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the Southwest Tennis Tournament, which is co-sponsored
this year by the City of Wichita Falls and Coca Cola Bottling
Company, will be held at Weeks and Hamilton Tennis Centers June 4
through June 7 , 1986 ; and,
WHEREAS , Coca Cola Bottling Company has requested that the
City Council waive Section 22-1 (a) (9) to allow the posting of
advertising devices at both tennis centers from June 4 through
June 7 for this tournament; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
concerning this request are exceptional, and that such request should
be granted .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT:
Section 22-1 (a) (9) of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to allow the posting of advertising devices in the Weeks and
Hamilton Tennis Centers June 4 through June 7 , 1986 for the Southwest
Tennis Tournament.
It is further found that this ordinance is an emergency
measure, and it shall become effective upon its adoption.
