RESOLUTION TO APPROVE REIMBURSEMENT TO STATE
OF TEXAS FOR RELOCATION OF WATER LINE ON EAST
SCOTT STREET BRIDGE
WHEREAS, the State of Texas through the Texas Department of
Highways and Public Transportation is reconstructing East Scott
Street (US Hwy 287 Business) from Hines Blvd. to Galveston
Street, including the construction of a new four-lane bridge
across Holliday Creek;
WHEREAS, the project is being funded by federal funds from
the Intermodal System Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA)
program with the exception of the cost of utility relocations for
which the City of Wichita Falls is responsible to fund;
WHEREAS, a 12-inch water line across the existing bridge on
Holliday Creek must be relocated to the new bridge that is being
constructed;
WHEREAS, the Council desires to accomplish this work
through the State contractor who is building the new East Scott
Street Bridge;
WHEREAS, the contractor has stated a cost to the State
Highway Department of $15, 037.00 for the remaining portions of
the relocation, a cost which will be paid by the State Highway
Department and then invoiced to the City of Wichita Falls for
reimbursement; and,
WHEREAS, the Council believes this is the most efficient and
cost-effective method to accomplish this work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The expenditure of $15, 037. 00 to reimburse the State of
Texas for relocation of a 12-inch water line under the newly
constructed north span of the East Scott Street Bridge is hereby
approved. The City Manager is authorized to reimburse the State
upon receiving an appropriate invoice.
