RESOLUTION TO APPROVE CHANGE ORDER #28 FOR
RIVER ROAD WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
MODIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONS PROJECT
WHEREAS, incorrect primary sludge density meters were
specified and installed in the River Road Wastewater Treatment
I Plant;
WHEREAS, the engineer and contractor have provided full
credit to the City for the incorrect meters;
WHEREAS, the cost of the three (3) larger, correct meters is
29,925. 00, and when the contractor subtracts the amount of
credit for the incorrect meters from that cost, the change order
amount for the new meters is $19, 431. 00;
WHEREAS the City has been provided a letter by the
engineering firm agreeing to have $12 , 658.50 withheld from their
fees as a credit to the City, leaving a net cost to the City for
Change Order #28 of $6,772 .50 ($19,431. 00 less $12, 658 . 50) ;
WHEREAS, the larger, correct density meters are necessary
for the efficient operation of the wastewater plant; and,
WHEREAS, the staff has recommended approval of Change Order
28 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Change Order #28 is hereby approved in the amount of
19, 431. 00, increasing the contract price with all previous
change orders from $19,500, 187.56 to $19,519, 618. 56. The City
Manager is authorized to execute the change order and is directed
to withhold $12, 658. 50 from the fees due to the en•ineering firm
for this project.
