A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FOURTH YEAR
FUNDING OF THE NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK
FORCE; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task
Force grant has proven to be an effective weapon in
combating drug offenses in the North Texas area; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has provided funds for
a continuation of drug enforcement grants for the fiscal
year 1993-1994 ; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like
to continue the grant project and submit a grant application
in the amount of Five Hundred Forty Thousand Seven Hundred
Sixty Four ($540,764. 00) Dollars, of which twenty-five (25%)
percent, or One Hundred Thirty Five Thousand One Hundred
Ninety One ($135, 191. 00) Dollars must be matching cash from
participating entities; and,
WHEREAS, Fifty Five Thousand ($55, 000. 00) Dollars of
the local matching cash requirement has already been
acquired through drug forfeiture monies; and,
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available for the
remainder of the local matching share.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby
authorized to make application for fourth year funding of
the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force grant,
and that sufficient funds are available for the local
matching share.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and
determined that the meeting at which this resolution was
passed was open to the public as required by law.
