RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ENGINEERING CONTRACT
WITH EMD, INC. FOR RECONDITIONING OF LAKE
ARROWHEAD VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVE
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has a variable frequency
drive on the raw water pump system at Lake Arrowhead, and the
drive is intended to save energy costs and prolong the service
life of the um and motor;P P
WHEREAS, the drive is not operating because of the failure
of various electrical components, and the City desires to repair
the drive and place it back into operation;
WHEREAS, the variable frequency drive is a complex
electrical component, and the City desires to engage an
electrical engineering firm to coordinate the repairs, test the
variable drive and place the drive back into operation; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has considered a proposed contract with
the engineering firm of EMD, Inc. for the stated purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The engineering contract with the consulting firm of EMD,
Inc. to provide technical services necessary to repair the Lake
Arrowhead variable frequency drive is hereby approved with a
maximum payment for the base engineering services identified in
the contract to be $22, 000. The City Manager is authorized to
execute the contract for the City.
