Ord 045-86 6/3/1986 ORDINANCE NO. 45-86 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14, SECTION 14-83 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS IN ORDER TO SPECIFY EXEMPTIONS FROM THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 14. WHEREAS, certain persons, firms, companies, or organizations, by nature of their work involving electrical installations or due to other pre-emptive State or Federal Legislation, should be exempt from the provisions of the Electrical Code of the City of Wichita -- Falls, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: Section 14-83 of Chapter 14, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls is hereby deleted in its entirety, and the following substituted therefore; "Section 14-83. Exemptions The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to the following; (A) Fire, police, and traffic signal installations installed and maintained by the City of Wichita Falls. (B) Installations and maintenance of street lighting systems and guard lights on public streets, alleys, parkways, parks and other City- owned property, by the City of Wichita Falls, the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation or Texas Electric Service Company. (C) Electrical work consisting of transmission, distribution, or communication systems installed by or for, and owned or maintained by a public utility, telephone, telegraph, or other company operating under franchise with the City of Wichita Falls; however, such exemption shall not apply to any electrical work not directly associated with the generation, distribution, or rendition of service to the public. (D) Electrical work performed on any State or Federal building or premises specifically exempted by Federal or State Law. " PASSED AND APPROVED this the 3rd d y of June 1986.
