ORDINANCE NO. 41-44(
ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 22-13 AND 22-14 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF
MEMBERS OF THE PARK BOARD FROM 9 TO 11 .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS , THAT:
Sections 22-13 and 22-14 of the Code of Ordinances are hereby
amended to read as follows :
"Section 22-13 . Created; Composition; Salary.
There is hereby created a Park Board for the City composed
of 11 members , who shall each be a resident of the City and shall
serve without pay.
Section 22-14 , Appointment; Vacancies; Removal .
Members of the Park Board shall be appointed by the City
Council, and they shall serve for terms of three years , and there-
after until their successors are appointed and qualified . Terms
shall expire on December 31, and the terms of the members shall
be staggered so that the terms of four members shall expire on
December 31 of one year, the terms of four other members shall
expire on December 31 of the next year, and the terms of the
three remaining members shall expire on December 31 of the next
year. All vacancies on the Board shall be filled by the City
Council and shall be for the unexpired term of the vacating member.
Any member of the Park Board may be removed from office at any
time by a five-sevenths (5/7) majority vote of the City Council
without any reason being given therefore. "
