ORDINANCE NO. 4/f-Ai
ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO ALLOW POSSESSION AND CONSUMPTION OF
BEER IN LUCY PARK FOR THE OIL BOWL FUN RUN ON
AUGUST 2, 1986 .
WHEREAS, the Maskat Shrine Temple will again host the Annual
Oil Bowl charity football game this year; they have planned many
special events to boost interest in this game; and,
WHEREAS , on August 2, 1986 , the Oil Bowl Committee will host
a fun run in conjunction with the game, which run will be held in
Lucy Park, and they desire to serve beer to the fun run participants;
no alcoholic beverages of any kind will be sold; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
in this request are exceptional, and that the request for the
waiver should be granted .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Section 22-4 of the Code of Ordinances,
prohibiting the possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages
in parks, is hereby waived so that the Oil Bowl Committee may serve
beer to the participants in the fun run in Lucy Park on August 2, 1986 .
