ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTIONS 22-1 AND 22-3 TO ALLOW OVER-
NIGHT PARKING AND BANNERS FOR THE FOURTH ANNUAL MUSCULAR
DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION FUN FLY IN JAYCEE PARK.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Radio Control Club and the Muscular Dystrophy
Association are sponsoring the fourth Annual Muscular Dystrophy Association
Fun Fly in Jaycee Park on September 6 and 7, 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls District Office of MDA is a non-profit
organization supporting over 400 patients and supporting clinic service, with
all aid to patients being free; and,
WHEREAS, the sponsors have requested that four vehicles be allowed over-
night in the park for security reaons, and tht Pepsi-Cola/Seven-Up and the
Southland Corporation (Oak Farms and Seven-Eleven) , corporate sponsors for
the MDA, and the MDA, be allowed to display banners in the park for this
occasion; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the circumstances involved in this
request are exceptional, and such waivers should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Sections 22-1 and 22-3 of the Code of Ordinances are
hereby waived to allow overnight parking and the display of banners for
Pepsi-Cola/Seven-Up, the Southland Corporation, and the Muscular Dystrophy
Association for the fourth Annual Muscular Dystrophy Association Fun Fly at
Y
Jaycee Park on September 6 and 7, 1986.
This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, and shall become
effective upon its passage.
