ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1, SUBSECTION (a) (9) , AND
SECTION 22-4 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE
POSTING OF ADVERTISING MATERIAL AND TO ALLOW THE POSSESSION
AND CONSUMPTION OF BEER IN JAYCEE PARK AT THE TRIATHLON ON
SEPTEMBER 13, 1986.
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Runners Club is hosting the Fifth Annual
Wichita Falls Triathlon on September 13, 1986, at 9:00 o'clock a.m. at Jaycee
Park; sponsors for the event are Howmet Turbine Components Corporation,
MBank and Wichita Beer Distributors; and,
WHEREAS, the proceeds from the event will go to the Downtown Lions Club;
and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Runners Club has requested a waiver of the
applicable ordinances to allow the posting of advertising material and
possession and consumption of beer at this event; the City Council finds that
the circumstances involved are exceptional, and that such waivers should be
granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The provisions of Section 22-1, Subsection (a) (9) , and Section 22-4 of
the Code of Ordinances are hereby waived to allow the posting of advertising
material, and to allow the possession and consumption of beer, in Jaycee Park
on September 13, 1986, for the Fifth Annual Wichita Falls Triathlon.
