A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, APPOINTING MICHAEL WHELAN AS SUBSTITUTE
JUDGE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS
RESOLUTION WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS
REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the Mayor, with the consent of the governing body,
is authorized to appoint a qualified person to act as substitute
judge during the temporary absence of the Municipal Judge; and,
WHEREAS, Dan Tompkins and Bill Harris currently serve as
substitute judges; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines it is
necessary to appoint an additional substitute judge for the
Municipal Court to avoid any scheduling conflicts which may
occur; and,
WHEREAS, Michael Whelan has agreed to act in this capacity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby consents to the
appointment of Michael Whelan as a substitute judge of the
Municipal Court for a term of two years, beginning June 21, 1994.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
