RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ENGINEERING SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH BIGGS & MATHEWS, INC. FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO PAINTING OF
THE DENVER ELEVATED STORAGE TANK AND THE
NORTH BEVERLY GROUND STORAGE TANKS
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to maintain the
condition of the Denver Street Elevated Water Tank, the North
Beverly Ground Storage Tanks and an exposed water line on
Midwestern Parkway through a routine painting program;
WHEREAS, there are significant regulatory requirements for
the removal of the existing paint from the tanks to prevent the
pollution of air and surrounding ground with lead-based paints;
WHEREAS, the Council believes it is necessary to engage a
consulting engineering firm to assure we comply with all the
regulatory requirements, thereby reducing our potential
liability; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed engineering
contract with the engineering firm of Biggs & Mathews, Inc . for
this purpose .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The proposed engineering contract with Biggs & Mathews, Inc.
for engineering services related to the painting of the Denver
and North Beverly water storage tanks and the water line is
hereby approvedroved with a maximum base engineering fee ofgg
46, 312 . 50; the City Manager is authorized to execute the
contract for the City of Wichita Falls.
