Res 073-94 5/9/1994I RESOLUTION NO. 1 :=S -6i4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS ON MAY 7, 1994, FOR MAYOR; COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 3; COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 4; AND COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 5; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW. WHEREAS, at a special called meeting of the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls, held in the Memorial Auditorium building on the 9th day of May, 1994, at which time a quorum was present, there came on to be considered the returns of the municipal election held on the 7th day of May, 1994; and, WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election, it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects, and that 4815 voters voted in said election, and that votes were cast as follows: FOR MAYOR Michael Lam received 2466 votes. Claude E. Greer received 610 votes. Beth Loughry received 1695 votes. FOR COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 3 Bill Daniel received 1103 votes. FOR COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 4 John W. Webber received 340 votes. J. W. Martin received 812 votes. FOR COUNCILOR, DISTRICT 5 Harold Hawkins received 433 votes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. Said election was in all respects legally held in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter and ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls; that Michael Lam Page 2 of 3 Pages Agenda Item No. I w was duly and legally elected Mayor; Bill Daniel was duly and legally elected Councilor, District— J . W . Martin was duly and legally elected Councilor, District 4; and Harold Hawkins was duly and legally elected Councilor, District 5. SECTION 2.
