RESOLUTION TO APPROVE EIGHTH AMENDMENT TO
WATER PURCHASE CONTRACT WITH CITY OF LAKESIDE
CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls and the City of Lakeside
City entered into a Water Purchase Contract on April 13 , 1970,
said contract stipulating that the maximum amount of water to be
provided by the City of Wichita Falls is 13 , 333 cubic feet per
day (100, 000 gallons per day) ;
WHEREAS, Lakeside City is requesting an amendment to the
contract so Lakeside City can comply with State law requiring the
maximum amount of water in the Water Purchase Contract to be at
least 0 . 6 gallons per minute per connection, an equivalent of
300, 000 gallons per day for the 346 existing connections on the
Lakeside City system;
WHEREAS, Lakeside City has requested an increase in the
allocation to 500, 000 per day; and
WHEREAS, the Council has examined a proposed Eighth Contract
Amendment for the purpose of increasing the Lakeside City
allocation of water to be furnished by the City of Wichita Falls .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Eighth Amendment to the Water Purchase Contract between
the City of Wichita Falls and the City of Lakeside City is hereby
approved to amend Section 1 . 8 of the contract to a maximum daily
amount of water of 3 5 O)OOtgallons per day, and the City Manager
is authorized to execute the amendment for the City.
