RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF
THE NAVY FOR THE PROPERTY AT 1823 FIFTH
STREET AND AUTHORIZING HIM TO ENTER INTO A
LEASE AGREEMENT FOR THE PROPERTY WITH THE
WICHITA FALLS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the Department of the Navy has completed the
asbestos removal project at 1823 Fifth Street; and
WHEREAS, the City by the terms of the Naval Reserve lease
may retain improvements to the land; and
WHEREAS, the City currently owns property at 1823 Fifth
Street, the former Naval Reserve Center; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to lease this property and the
improvements to the Wichita Falls Independent School District.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept improvements
from the Department of the Navy for the property at 1823 Fifth
Street and enter into a lease agreement with the Wichita Falls
Independent School District Board of Trustees for the property
and improvements at 1823 Fifth Street.
