RESOLUTION NO. a I-q L)
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR FIFTH
YEAR FUNDING OF THE NORTH TEXAS REGIONAL DRUG
ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE; FINDING AND DETERMINING
THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task
Force Grant has proven to be an effective weapon in combating
drug offenses in the North Texas Area; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal Government has provided funds for a
continuation of Drug Enforcement Grants for the fiscal year 1994-
1995; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like to
continue the grant project and submit a grant application in the
amount of Three Hundred Seventy Three Thousand Four Hundred
Eighty Six ($373, 486) Dollars, of which Twenty-five (25%)
percent, or Ninety Three Thousand Three Hundred Seventy Two
93, 372) Dollars must be matching cash from participating
entities; and,
WHEREAS, the matching cash requirement will be reduced by
Forty Three Thousand Five Hundred Eighty Nine ($43 , 589. 00)
Dollars through drug forfeiture monies and by sixteen entities
providing equal shares of the remaining Forty Nine Thousand Seven
Hundred Eighty Three ($49, 783 . 00) Dollars cash requirement, and
WHEREAS, the applicable share for the City of Wichita Falls
for participating in the grant project in the grant would be
Three Thousand One Hundred Eleven ($3 , 111. 00)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to
make application for Fifth Year funding of the North Texas
Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant, and that sufficient
funds are available for the local matching share.
SECTION 2 . It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
