RESOLUTION NO. rilr I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
QUITCLAIM DEED FOR THE REDEMPTION OF THE PROPERTY AT
1215 TULIP STREET; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS DISCUSSED WAS OPEN
TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a certain judgment and decree of sale were rendered
by the District Court of Wichita County in Cause No. 38,797-B,
the City of Wichita Falls, et al, vs. Silas Goree, in the matter
of delinquent taxes; and,
WHEREAS, at the Sheriff's Sale of October 4, 1994, the
property at 1215 Tulip Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, was struck
off to the City as trustee for itself and the other taxing
entities; and,
WHEREAS, on October 5, 1994, Mr. Silas Goree paid the taxes
and court costs involved in the suit in order to redeem the
property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Mayor Michael Lam is hereby authorized to
execute that certain quitclaim deed, attached hereto, which will
convey the property described as Lot 23, Block 1, Burnett First
Addition, a/k/a 1215 Tulip Street, Wichita Falls, Texas, to Mr.
Silas Goree, the prior owner.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 6th d. of December, 1994.

QUITCLAIM DEED

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that the CITY OF WICHITA FALLS,
acting by and through its Mayor, the WICHITA FALLS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT, acting by and through the President of the Board of Trustees
and COUNTY OF WICHITA, acting by and through the Chairman of
Commissioners Court, as authorized by Section 34 . 21 , Texas Property Tax
Code, for and in consideration of the redemption sum of ONE THOUSAND,
FOUR HUNDRED AND NINTY-THREE DOLLARS and FIVE CENTS ( $1, 493 . 05) in hand
paid by SILAS GOREE, Grantee, the receipt of which is hereby
acknowledged and confessed, has conveyed and quitclaimed and by these
presents do convey and quitclaim unto said Grantee all right, title and
interest of the CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, WICHITA FALLS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL
DISTRICT and COUNTY OF WICHITA, all taxing units interested in the tax
foreclosure judgment against the property herein conveyed, acquired by
tax foreclosure sale heretofore held, said property being described as :
TRACT 1 : Lot 23, Block 1, Burnett First Addition to the City of
Wichita Falls, Wichita County, Texas, as more
particularly dscribed in a deed recorded in Volume 1396
at Page 685 of the Deed Records of Wichita County,
Texas;
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD said premises, together with all and singular
the rights , privileges and appurtenances thereto in any manner
belonging unto the said SILAS GOREE, his heirs and assigns forever, so
that neither the CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, WICHITA FALLS INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT and COUNTY OF WICHITA, nor any other taxing unit
interested in said tax foreclosure judgment, nor any person claiming
under it and them, shall at any time hereafter have , claim or demand
any right or title to the aforesaid premises or appurtenances, or any
part thereof .
Taxes for the present year are to be paid by the Grantee.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, WICHITA FALLS
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT and COUNTY OF WICHITA, has caused these
presents to be executed this day of 1994 .
