I Ll-A - C1 LI RESOLUTION TO RESCIND RESOLUTION 159-90, AS AMENDED, PERTAINING TO FEES FOR SERVICES BY THE PUBLIC WORKS/UTILITIES DEPARTMENT AND TO APPROVE A NEW RESOLUTION TO UPDATE THE RATES FOR UTILITY LABOR, EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL AND SERVICES WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls performs certain waterYP and sewer services and the cost of these services is recovered from the user; WHEREAS, the current fee schedule for these services does not reflect all of the services currently performed, and the rates for services need to be updated; and, WHEREAS, the Council desires to update the fee schedule so that users pay a reasonable and equitable cost for services rendered. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, THAT: 1 . Section I : Resolution 159-90 dated September 18, 1990 with all amendments is hereby rescinded. 2 . Section II : Water and Sewer Taps. The charge for standard and non-standard water taps and for standard and non-standard sewer taps will be as follows : A. Standard Water Tap: A 5/8" or 1" water tap that does not exceed 15 ' of service line. Excavation is performed in soil using a backhoe and no additional construction (e.g. breaking of asphalt or concrete; underground boring) is required. Standard Sewer Tap: A sewer tap installed on an existing sewer main line or manhole using standard equipment and materials where the property owner or agent has excavated and no additional preparation by the City is required, and where the excavation meets OSHA standards for trench/excavation safety. t - Type Tat? Section VI : Temporary Turn-off of Water Service at the Customer' s Request: A fee of $15. 00 is established for a customer-requested turn-off and turn-on of water service, unless the service call is to be made on an overtime basis in which case the fee shall be $20. 00 . The fee shall include both a turn-off and turn-on service call to the meter.None of the fee is refundable if only one service call is made. No charge shall be made if the customer is requesting the turn- off so that repairs can be made to the portion of the house line between the City-owned water meter and the customer-owned shut-off valve. The Director, Department of Public Works, shall have the authority to temporarily waive this charge when extreme weather conditions require water to be turned off at the meters to prevent damages in buildings throughout the City. 7 . Section VII : The charges indicated above will be effective for services performed.on or after October 1, 1994 .
