RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, ON AUGUST 13, 1994, ON A PROPOSITION
ON THE QUESTION OF THE ADOPTION OF AN ADDITIONAL
ONE-HALF CENT SALES AND USE TAX UNDER THE
PROVISION OF SECTION 4B OF THE INDUSTRIAL
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ACT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Wichita Falls
adopted Ordinance No. 83-94 on June 21, 1994 calling for a
Special City Election to be held on August 13, 1994, and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Wichita Falls, Texas, held in the Memorial
Auditorium building on the 16th day of August, 1994, there
came on to be considered the returns of the special
municipal election held on the 13th day of August, 1994; and
WHEREAS, after canvassing the returns of said election,
it was found to be duly and legally held in all respects,
and that 7,226 voters voted in said election, and that
votes were cast as follows:
PROPOSITION NO. 1:

AGAINST 3,881
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Said election was in all respects legally held in
accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the
Charter and the ordinances of the City of Wichita Falls;
that Proposition No. 1 was not approved.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 16th day of August, 1994.

I , the undersigned, the Presiding Officer of the
Canvassing Authority for the Municipal General Election,
held on the 13th day of August, 1994, Wichita Falls , Texas ,
do hereby certify that the following is a total of all votes
received for and against the Proposition as shown by the
precinct returns . I further certify that the following vote
totals include early voting votes by precinct received under
Section 87 . 1231 of the Texas Election Code.
