ORDINANCE NO. 1-87
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING, VACATING, AND ABANDONING
A. TWENTY FOOT WIDE EAST-WEST ALLEY IN BLOCK 6
FLORAL HEIGHTS ADDITION, WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS,
AND RETAINING A UTILITY EASEMENT
WHEREAS, the Planning & Zoning Commission has recommended
the closure of a twenty ( 20) foot wide, east-west alley in
Block 6, Floral Heights Addition, Wichita Falls, Texas,
subject to the retention of a utility easement; and,
WHEREAS, the City- Council deems that the closing of the
alley hereafter described is advisable and in the public
interest to close the alley hereafter described.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The twenty ( 20) foot wide, east-west alley
lying south of Lots 1-8, and north of Lots 9 & 17, Block 6,
Floral Heights Addition, Wichita Falls, Texas; and bounded on
t .e east by the west right-of-way lines of Harrison Street;
and to the west by the east right-of-way line of Tyler Street
is hereby closed, vacated, and abandoned.
SECTION 2. The entire area of the closed alley described
in Section 1 is hereby retained as a utility easement, for the
purposes of laying and maintaining all kinds and character of
utility lines, including water, gas, electric, telephone, T.V.
cable, power lines, and sanitary and storm sewers.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall become effective upon
the filing of a final plat of Lot 1-A, Block 6, Floral Heights
Addition, Wichita Falls, Texas, within one ( 1) year of the
passage of this ordinance.
