ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 (a) (9) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE POSTING OF ADVERTISING
DEVICES AT LUCY PARK ON JUNE 20 , 1987 FOR AN EVENT SPONSORED
BY THE AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION. THE EVENT
WILL BE CALLED THE RIDE AND STRIDE EVENT.
WHEREAS , the American Diabetes Association which is
sponsoring the Ride and Stride Event to be held in Lucy Park
on Saturday, June 20, 1987 ; and,
WHEREAS, the American Diabetes Association has requested
that the City Council waive Section 22-1 (a) (9) to allow the
posting of advertising devices at Lucy Park for this event ; and,
WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the circumstances in-
volved concerning this request are exceptional , and that such
request should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT:
Section 22-1 (a) (9) of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to allow the posting of advertising devices in Lucy Park on the
20th of June, 1987 for the Ride and Stride Event .
