ORDINANCE WAIVING SECTION 22-1 (a) (9) OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES TO ALLOW THE POSTING OF ADVERTISING
DEVICES AT THE WEEKS AND HAMILTON TENNIS CENTERS
FOR THE 20th ANNUAL SOUTHWEST CHAMPIONSHIP TENNIS
TOURNAMENT ON JUNE 3-6. , 1987 .
WHEREAS , the Wichita Falls Tennis Association, which is
co-sponsored this year by Robert Woodson Lincoln-Mercury and Radio
Station KNIN, will be held at Weeks and Hamilton Tennis Centers
June 3-6 , 1987 ; and ,
WHEREAS , the Wichita Falls Tennis Association has requested
that the City Council waive Section 22-1 (a) (9) to allow the posting of
advertising devices at both tennis centers from June 3 through June 6
for this tournament ; and,
WHEREAS , the City Council finds that the circumstances involved
concerning this request are exceptional , and that such request should be
granted .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT:
Section 22-1(a) (9) of the Code of Ordinances is hereby waived
to allow the posting of advertising devices in the Weeks and Hamilton
Tennis Centers June 3 through June 6 , 1987 for the 20th Annual Southwest
Championship Tennis Tournament.
