MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FROM THE
LIABILITY RESERVE OF THE GENERAL
FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING A
FLEET LIABILITY SETTLEMENT
WHEREAS, the City has established a liability reserve fund within
the General Fund to provide coverage for various claims and
settlements; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to a settlement in a fleet
liability claim relating to the Street Division; and
WHEREAS, this settlement is of such a size that it cannot be paid
from the normal operating expenses of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, THAT:
There is hereby appropriated the amount of $60,000 from the
liability reserve of the General Fund to be placed in account number
11-344-4520 for the purpose of paying a fleet liability claim. A
grave public necessity exists, and this is an emergency expenditure to
meet unusual and unforeseen conditions which could not, by reasonable,
diligent thought and attention, have been included in the 1986-87
budget.
The fact that this amount is immediately due and payable creates
an emergency; therefore, this ordinance is declared to be an emergency
measure and shall become effective immediately upon its p.ssage.
