Ord 043-87 5/5/1987 ORDINANCE NO. 4-/7 ORDINANCE WAIVING THE PENALTY AND INTEREST PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE 48-83 FOR DELINQUENT TAXES DUE TO CITY ON TAX ACCOUNT NUMBER 4040-021-5600. WHEREAS, Tax Code Section 33.011 provides that the penalty and interest on delinquent taxes authorized by Tax Code Section 33.21 and Ordinance 48-83 may be waived by the taxing unit if the failure to timely pay the required taxes was due to an act or omission of an officer, employee or agent of the taxing unit and if the tax is paid within 21 days after the taxpayer knows of the delinquency; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the above requirements have been met, that the circumstances involved in this situation are exceptional and that the above described waiver should be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: A waiver of Ordinance No. 48-83 for Tax Account Number 4040-021-5600 is hereby granted so that the City's protion of the penalty and interest on delinquent taxes in the amount of Forty-two dollars and twenty-four cents ($42.24) are hereby waived.
