A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CARELINE, INC. TO ASSIGN
THE AMBULANCE SERVICE CONTRACT TO LAIDLAW, INC.;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW
WHEREAS, on the 24th day of July, 1989, the cities of
Burkburnett, Iowa Park, Wichita Falls and Wichita County executed
a contract for ambulance services with Life Line Emergency
Medical Services, Inc., and
WHEREAS, on the 17th day of May, 1994, this contract was
assigned to CareLine, Inc., and
WHEREAS, Section XVII of the contract provides for the
assignment of the contract with the written consent of the
governmental entities, and
WHEREAS, the assignment of the contract will serve the best
interests of the citizens of Wichita Falls.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Wichita Falls does hereby consent to
the assignment of the ambulance service contract by CareLine,
Inc. to Laidlaw, Inc.
SECTION 2. It is hereby officially found and determined
that the meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to
the public as required by law.
