Res 164-95 10/3/1995RESOLUTION NO. RESOLUTION TO APPROVE ENGINEERING CONTRACT WITH BIGGS AND MATHEWS, INC. FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES RELATED TO PHASE I SEWER REHABILITATION IMPROVEMENTS AND SOUTHWEST SEWER INTERCEPTOR RELIEF WHEREAS, in response to an Environmental Protection Agency Administrative Order, the City caused a study to be conducted, such study known as the Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study; WHEREAS, the purpose of the study was to analyze the sanitary sewer system and to determine the corrective action necessary to prevent sanitary sewer overflows in the collection system; WHEREAS, the final report of the study recommends two (2) broad programs of corrective action, a collection system rehabilitation program and a capacity expansion program, said programs to be conducted over a period of years; WHEREAS, we are ready to proceed with the first year of construction on the rehabilitation and expansion programs, and the City needs to engage an engineering firm for the necessary engineering services; and, WHEREAS, the staff has recommended a proposed contract with the firm of Biggs and Mathews, Inc. for the stated engineering services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT: The proposed contract for the project known as Phase I Sewer Rehabilitation Improvements and Southwest Sewer Interceptor Relief is hereby approved, with a minimum engineering fee for basic services of $213,055.31 and a maximum fee of $248,492.81.
