A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY NECESSARY CONTRACTS
WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES-
TO ACCEPT AND DESIGNATE EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS
FROM THE TITLE IV -A AT -RISK CHILD CARE
PROGRAM; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, The Texas Department of Human Services is responsible for
administering the Title IV -A At -Risk Child Care Programs, and may consider
certain funds from local public entities as the state's matching share in
obtaining federal funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has provided Community Development Block
Grant funds to Child Care Inc. during previous funding periods for subsidized day
care for low and moderate income working parents; and
WHEREAS, these expended Community Development Block Grant funds will result
in matching funds to be received from federal sources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is authorized to enter into a
certification contract with the Texas Department of Human Services.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is authorized to direct TDHS to
designate these match funds to Child Care, Inc. for child care in Wichita Falls.
SECTION 3. It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting
at which this resolution was passed was open to the public as required by law.
