RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, SHEPPARD AIR FORCE
BASE, FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION AND OVERLAY OF RUNWAY 17 -35 AT
SHEPPARD AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN FAA
CONSTRUCTION GRANT TO FUND THE RUNWAY PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is requesting financial assistance
from the FAA in the form of a construction grant; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to reconstruct the designated
civilian runway at Sheppard Air Force Base; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Defense has agreed to fund a portion of
the project cost;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into an
agreement with the Department of Defense and is hereby authorized to
submit a grant applciation to the Federal Aviation Administration.
