RESOLUTION AWARDING BID AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH DONNIE'S BODY SHOP FOR THE TOWING
OF VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for
bids for the towing of vehicles for the Police Department;
and,
WHEREAS, Collins Motor Company was found to be the
lowest bider, however, he has declined the contract due to
personal health problems; and,
WHEREAS, Donnie's Body Shop was the second lowest
bidder who met all of the required specifications; and,
WHEREAS, it is important that this service start as
soon as possible.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bid from Donnie's Body Shop is accepted and the City
Manager is authorized to execute a contract for the City
with Donnie's Body Shop for said towing of vehicles for the
police department.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 3rd day of January 1995.

ITEM /SUBJECT: Resolution awarding bid and Authorizing the City
Manager to execute a contract with Donnie's Body
Shop for towing of vehicles for the Police
Department.
INITIATING DEPT: Police Department
COMMENTARY: On December 28, 1994, bids were opened from five (5)
companies who had bid on the towing contract with
the City. After reviewing the bids, it was determined
that Collins Motor Company was the lowest bid and that
they meet all of the bid specifications. However,
Collins declined the contract due to health problems.
Therefore, it is the recommendation of the police
department to award the bid to Donnie's Body Shop.
The bid tabulations are attached.
