A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO APPLY FOR SIXTH YEAR FUNDING OF THE NORTH
TEXAS REGIONAL DRUG ENFORCEMENT TASK FORCE;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING
AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED
WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the North Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task
Force Grant has proven to be an effective weapon in
combating drug offenses in the North Texas Area; and,
WHEREAS, the Federal government has provided funds for
a continuation of Drug Enforcement Grants for the fiscal
year 1995 -1996; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department would like
to continue the grant project and submit a grant application
in the amount of Four Hundred and seventy three thousand
three hundred and ninety one ($473,391) Dollars, of which
Twenty -five (25 %) percent, or One Hundred and eighteen
thousand three hundred and forty -four ($118,344) Dollars
must be matching cash; and,
WHEREAS, the matching cash requirement has been met
from drug forfeiture monies; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
to make application for Sixth Year funding of the North
Texas Regional Drug Enforcement Task Force Grant, and that
sufficient funds are available for the local matching share.
Section 2. It is hereby officially found and
determined that the meeting at which this resolution was
passed was open to the public as required by law.
