RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE CITY'S INTENT TO
COMMIT THE NECESSARY FUNDING TO SECURE THE
1997 ASSOCIATION OF MAYORS, COUNCILMEMBERS
AND COMMISSIONERS ANNUAL INSTITUTE
WHEREAS, the Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and
Commissioners has requested proposals from Texas cities for the
award of host city designation for the 1997 annual institute;
ME-1
WHEREAS, this institute would have a substantial impact on
the economy of Wichita Falls by attracting approximately 900-
1,300 participants to the city; and,
WHEREAS, the selected host city must commit to funding
approximately $17,500 for the institute; and,
WHEREAS, Hotel/Motel funds are eligible for this type of
activity;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City does commit to fund the $17,500 to secure the 1997
Association of Mayors, Councilmembers and Commissioners Annual
Institute.
