RESOLUTION NO. —I b
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, ASSIGNING CERTAIN DUTIES TO
THE MAYOR'S COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN;
FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE MEETING AT WHICH
THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 2967, passed and approved by the
City Council on April 7, 1975, established the Mayor's
Commission on the Status of Women: and,
WHEREAS, in said ordinance, the Commission is directed
to perform duties "as may from time to time be assigned to
it by resolution of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. "
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT;
SECTION 1. The Mayor' s Commission on the Status of
Women are hereby tasked to perform the following functions
on behalf of the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Wichita Falls:
1. Compile a resource directory of local services
available for women;
2 . Develop an interpretation of the current status on
Medicare/Medicaid as it pertains to women in our community;
3. Report on the skills of women available in our
community to provide information for potential employment;
4 . Ascertain the need for c hi ld care in the community
and survey current child care facilities;
5. Ascertain the need for elder care for women in our
community; and,
6. Participate in the Texas Women' s Hall of Fame.
Quarterly written progress reports shall be submitted
to the Mayor for distribution to the City Council.

SECTION 2. It is hereby found and determined that the
meeting at which this resolution was passed was open to the
public as required by law.
