RESOLUTION TO AWARD BIDS FOR CHEMICAL POLYMERS
FOR SLUDGE DEWATERING
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has advertised for bids
for chemicals polymers used to dewater sludge at the wastewater
treatment plants;
WHEREAS, bidding companies were required to prequalify by
testing the offered product on sludge produced by the River Road
Wastewater Treatment Plant;
WHEREAS, the prescribed prequalification tests determined the
quantity of offered product required to produce a dry ton of
sludge;
WHEREAS, the basis for award of the bid is the cost of the
offered product per dry ton of produced sludge; and,
WHEREAS, the Council has examined the bids received for the
products .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bid for the Mannich Polymer (Belt Thickener) is hereby
award to Allied Colloids, Inc . who bid a unit price of $0 . 134 per
pound with a production cost of $2 . 58 per dry ton. The award of
bid for the Emulsion Polymer (Wedgewire Beds) is hereby awarded to
Polydyne, Inc . who bid a unit price of $1 . 00 per pound with a
production cost of $2 . 92 per dry ton of sludge . The award of bid
for the Emulsion Polymer (Belt Press) is hereby award to Allied
Colloids, Inc . who bid a unit price of $1 . 23 per pound with a
production cost of $1 . 85 per dry ton of sludge. The City Manager
is authorized to enter appropriate contracts with these companies
for the purposes stated.
