RESOLUTION TO APPROVE JOINT FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH
U.S . GEOLOGICAL SURVEY FOR OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE OF STREAM FLOW AND RESERVOIR CONTENT
GAUGING STATIONS
WHEREAS, the U. S. Geological Survey operates and maintains a
series of stream flow and reservoir-content gauging stations on the
Little Wichita River Water Shed;
WHEREAS, the data from these stations are extremely important to
the City of Wichita Falls for the monitoring of water flows into
current reservoirs and for the planning of future reservoirs;
WHEREAS, the City has historically shared with USGS in the cost
of operating and maintaining three of these stations, with the fourth
station being funded fully by the City;
WHEREAS, the maintenance of three of the stations is a
requirement of the water-use permits from the State of Texas; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The said Joint-Funding Agreement is hereby approved with the
City' s share of the cost to be $13, 085 .The City Manager is
authorized to execute the agreement for the City.
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 15th day of October, 1996 .
