REQUEST FOR EXCEPTION TO RESOLUTION NO. 126-
84 REGARDING A WATER CONNECTION TO THE RAW
WATER TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City Council on July 3 , 1984 passed Resolution
No. 126-84 to restrict individual taps on the raw water
transmission system;
WHEREAS, Resolution 126-84 did provide for connections to
serve cities, industries, rural water systems, or other such
entities;
WHEREAS, a local Developer is planning the construction of
an Executive Golf Course on Southwest Parkway near Rosemont
Cemetery and has requested use of raw water from a tap on the
Secondary Reservoir-to-Jasper line for irrigation purposes;
WHEREAS, two existing golf courses currently use raw water
from the same line;
WHEREAS, the Staff has determined that allowing the
requested tap will not discernibly reduce the amount of water
received at the Jasper Street Water Treatment Plant; and,
WHEREAS, the rate structure for water sales currently
includes a rate for retail raw water customers .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The requested tap on the Secondary Reservoir-to-Jasper raw
water line to provide irrigation water to the proposed Executive
Golf Course is hereby approved, and the Staff is authorized to
effect the tap at no cost to the city.
