RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY TO
TEXAS PARKS AND WILDLIFE DEPARTMENT FOR A PUBLIC BOAT RAMP
ON LAKE WICHITA .
WHEREAS , the Boat Club of Wichita Falls has notified
the City they are not interested in continuing to lease City
land off Lake Shore Drive by Lake Wichita; and ,
WHEREAS , the City wishes to provide a reasonable
opportunity for it 's citizens to boating access to the lake;
and ,
WHEREAS , use of such property could be used until a new
boat ramp can be constructed; at which time it is the intent
to sell said property; and ,
WHEREAS , it is desirable to apply to the Texas Parks
and Wildlife Department for 75-25 matching grant for a new
boat ramp by the new spillway .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS , TEXAS , THAT :
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply to the
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for 75-25 matching grant
for construction of a public boat ramp on Lake Wichita .
PASSED AND APPROVED this the 20th day of August 1996 .
