A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A
FEDERAL "LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT"
THROUGH THE BUREAU OF ASSISTANCE
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls is eligible to apply
for a direct award of $203,512 under the Local Law
Enforcement Block Grants Program established within the
Bureau of Justice Assistance under the Fiscal Year 1996
Omnibus Appropriations Act (Public Law 104-134) ; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department has use
for these funds to complete the establishment of a Local
Area Network (LAN) computer system throughout the police
building; and,
WHEREAS, funds are available for the required local
matching share of $22 , 612 ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to make
application with the Bureau of Assistance for the $203, 512
in Local Law Enforcement Block Grant money that is available
to the City of Wichita Falls.
