RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE WICHITA FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT
TO PURCHASE SOME SPECIALIZED POLICE EQUIPMENT
FROM SEIZED CONFISCATED FUNDS
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls Police Department has
accumulated sufficient seized money from individuals
arrested for narcotics violations, and
WHEREAS, the state statues of the State of Texas
require that the expenditure of this money be approved by
the governing body for the law enforcement agency, and
WHEREAS, the police department has determined a need
for the purchase of some specialized police equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The Wichita Falls Police Department is authorized to
purchase the following specialized items from the
confiscated seized funds account: 1. Equipment to link the
Wichita Falls Police Department with the Digital Imaging
System of the Wichita County Sheriff's Department in order
to allow officers and investigators of the police department
to obtain instant access to prisoner photographs. 2 . A
disguised Audio Transmitter device which will be used by
Narcotic Officers to increase their safety when working
narcotic investigations. 3 . Three (3) 35mm Cameras for use
by the Identification Unit to make Crime Scene Photographs.
