A RESOLUTION DIRECTING CITY STAFF TO PREPARE AN
ANNEXATION SERVICE PLAN IN PREPARATION OF ANNEXING AN
AREA GENERALLY BOUNDED BY U.S. HWY. 287 TO THE SOUTH, F.M.
HWY. 369 TO THE WEST, REILLY ROAD TO THE NORTH, AND CITY
LIMITS TO THE EAST; FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE
MEETING AT WHICH THIS RESOLUTION WAS PASSED WAS OPEN TO
THE PUBLIC AS REQUIRED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an area shown on a map herein included as
Attachment A has the potential for economic growth where the City has installed and is installing
infrastructure to serve existing and proposed land uses; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has established an extraterritorial jurisdiction for cities
recognizing that such areas may present the need for inclusion of these properties into the City in order to
promote growth, provide for the orderly development of land, and to enhance the economic potential of a
city.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA
FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. Staff is directed to prepare a Service Plan for the annexation of the area described
under Attachment A, in accordance with Chapter 43.056 of the Texas Local Government Code.
SECTION 2 It is hereby officially found and determined that the meeting at which this resolution
was passed was open to the public as required by law.
