RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING COMPLETION OF THE
ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR THE LIBRARY
PROJECT AND COMMITTING UP TO TWO MILLION
DOLLARS IN CITY FUNDS FOR THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Kemp Public Library has served the city well
for a considerable number of years, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that an improved
library facility is needed for the community, and
WHEREAS, the architects estimate that to renovate the
existing Activities Center as the main public library will cost
3 , 791, 493 , and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that up to two
million dollars in City Reserve Funds can be utilized for the
library construction project, and
WHEREAS, the remaining project costs will need to be raised
from private sources, grants, or another City financing
mechanism, and
WHEREAS, Council desires to continue with the project design
while efforts are made to decide on the method of financing the
remaining project costs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Authorization is hereby granted to complete the
architectural services for the library renovation project and a
commitment is made to obligate up to two million dollars in City
Reserve Funds for this project.
